Back Spasms and Tight Muscles

Do you have tight back muscles? There could be many reasons as to why. For now, we are going to cover the most common reason, which is loss of movement of a spinal joint.
A back spasm is a sudden and involuntary contraction of a muscle responding to strain, overuse, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or muscle pain related to injury or a disorder.  Other muscle spasms can be due to nerve irritation connected to that particular muscle.  One example might be a herniated or protruded disc in the spine pressing on the spinal nerves.  This causes localized pain and spasm of the muscle near the spine.  Proper evaluation of a health condition such as nerve compression is critical to the treatment.

Research has shown that the primary problems with muscles are quite rare and compromise about 2% of  muscle and bone conditions. Extremely common reasons that tighten back muscles are spine injuries and the loss of movement of the spine joints.  Many patients that have had adjustments done on their backs have noticed an immediate change in the tightness of muscles, which result in decreased back pain and being able to move through a greater range of motion.
